Kern- any part of the face of a type which overhangs its body
Leading - the spacing between lines of type. This may be done with strips of lead, wood or plastic
Leads- Thin strips of lead-alloy, lower than type height, used for creating space in a page or forme
Letterpress- the process of printing from type
Lithography- the process of printing from a flat stone surface treated by hand or by photography so that only the areas required to print pick up ink. The rest of the plate remains ink repellent
